Dan O&#8217;Connor carefully added 13 runs to the total, keeping Nanango Purple&#8217;s hopes alive<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>Minor Semi-Final<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Nanango Purple &#8211; packed with some of the region&#8217;s best young cricketers &#8211; required just seven runs off the last over for a victory against the more favoured Wooroolin Warriors but fell just short in a nail-biting finish to the Minor Semi-Final.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nanango won the toss and sent Warriors into bat.<\/p>\n<p>Wooroolin were all out for 128 in the 40th over.<\/p>\n<p>Roger Hoare top-scored with 25 runs, although most of the batters also made a good start.<\/p>\n<p>Lawson Black (3\/23 off 7.4 overs), Thomas Town (2\/15 off eight) and Lachlan Cullen (2\/17 off five) were the pick of the Nanango bowlers.<\/p>\n<p>In reply, Nanango were 122 when the final wicket fell in the last over.<\/p>\n<p>Nanango&#8217;s hopes had been lifted when Dan O&#8217;Connor took the crease, carefully carving out 13 important runs while his partners fell at the other end.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly for Scorpions&#8217; not out 99<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>Major Semi-Final<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Murgon&#8217;s bowlers outgunned Vikings in the South Burnett Major Semi-Final played at Tingoora&#8217;s home ground on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Murgon won the toss and batted first, and were 5\/225 at the end of their 40 overs.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Kratzmann almost made a century, finishing not out 99.<\/p>\n<p>Opening bat Jonathon Kapernick (52) and Dylan Kapernick (23) added to Murgon&#8217;s total.<\/p>\n<p>Keegan Wright (3\/36 off eight overs) and Brad Moore (1\/14) finished with the best bowling figures for Tingoora.<\/p>\n<p>But in reply, Vikings were all out for just 70 in the 35th over.<\/p>\n<p>The two openers, Trevor Hansen (22) and Jeffrey Rose (17) were the only batters to make it into double figures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Murgon&#8217;s Byron Kratzmann finished with the incredible bowling figures of 3\/1 off five balls.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Adrian Webster took 4\/13 off eight overs, including one maiden; Nanango (7\/138) by 39 runs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kingaroy innings: James Searle (51 not out), Joseph Carney (28 not out); Slater Green (1\/22) and Elliott Black (1\/41)<br \/>\nNanango innings: Jayden Prendergast (19),\u00a0Joshua Kilpatrick (18); Hayden Donohue (2\/21) and Joseph Carney (2\/34)<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>Junior Rep Cricket<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Bundaberg was too strong for the South Burnett in the Under 16 Final of the Wide Bay Intercity Challenge played at Salter Oval in Bundaberg on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>South Burnett won the toss and batted first but only the middle order batters made a dent on the scoreboard.<\/p>\n<p>The visitors were all out for 113 in the 42nd over.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua Fearby (24), Lachlan Cullen (20) and Thomas Town (18) were the top scorers.<\/p>\n<p>In reply, Bundaberg (4\/115) overtook the target in the 29th over.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson Kerkow (2\/15 off 1.2 overs), Lawson Black (1\/30 off five) and Thomas Town (1\/14 off seven) finished with strong bowling figures for the South Burnett.<\/p>\n<p>Bundaberg may have claimed a six-wicket victory but the South Burnett U16s did very well to earn a spot in the final after six rounds of the four-way competition.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>Gympie A Grade Competition<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Day 1 of Round 5 of the Gympie Two-Day competition was played on Saturday at Jack Ison Oval in Gympie.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wooroolin Warriors won the toss and sent Gympie Colts into bat.<\/p>\n<p>At stumps, Colts were all out for 75 and Wooroolin Warriors were 7\/162.<\/p>\n<p>Luke Smith (3\/5 off four overs) finished with the best bowling figures for Wooroolin.<\/p>\n<p>Warriors&#8217; opener hit Chris Curtis hit a quickfire 70 runs, including ten 4s and two 6s before getting out stumped.<\/p>\n<p>Kieran Askin was not out 36.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 2 of the final round of the Two-Day competition will be played this Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>This Weekend&#8217;s Games<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>The Grand Finals of the SBCA Junior competition will be played at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8:00am &#8211; Stage 3 &#8211; Kingaroy v Nanango<\/li>\n<li>4:00pm &#8211; Stage 1 &#8211; Kingaroy Little Butchers v Nanango<\/li>\n<li>6:00pm &#8211; Stage 2 &#8211; Kingaroy Wamuran Timbers v Kingaroy Pineview Westlink<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Preliminary Final of the SBCA Senior competition will be played at Tingoora Sportsground from 12:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tingoora Vikings v Wooroolin Warriors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The winner will face Murgon in the Grand Final next weekend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE March 11: The Preliminary Final between Tingoora and Warriors has been washed out.
