Queensland Health has adjusted its COVID-19 reporting details for hospitalisation and infection rates.<\/p>\n

The latest statistics, released on Friday afternoon, showed that at midnight on Tuesday night there were 257 people being treated for COVID-19 in Queensland hospitals, with eight patients in intensive care.<\/p>\n

This was down slightly on the figures reported last Friday, ie. 278 \/ 6, and the first drop in five weeks.<\/p>\n

However, the figures from now on only include patients in public hospitals.<\/p>\n

The total number of Queenslanders who have been infected with COVID-19 during the pandemic has also been revised.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This figure, which researchers have repeatedly stated is underestimated due to a lack of reporting, has been reduced by almost 8 per cent.<\/p>\n

Last week, Queensland Health reported there had been 1,800,236 people infected since the pandemic began.<\/p>\n

This week’s figure is 1,653,510 “due to data quality activities conducted on Queensland self-reported RAT data”.<\/p>\n

Queensland Health also reported another 12 deaths, taking the total number of people who have died with COVID-19 since the pandemic began to 2796.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
