South Burnett Regional Council will conduct community consultations next month on an upgrade to the lower portion of Scott Street, Wondai.<\/p>\n

The works – between Haly and Edwards streets – will complement a proposed upgrade to Wondai’s highway roundabout and are expected to be carried out next financial year.<\/p>\n

At Wednesday’s Infrastructure Standing Committee meeting, Councillors were shown some initial concept drawings of the proposal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The drawings were made after a consultation round and walk-through conducted by Council’s planning staff with some community members, led by the Mayor and several councillors.<\/p>\n

Feedback from the public consultation meetings will be collected and presented to a full Council meeting later this year, after which final plans will be drawn up and work will begin.<\/p>\n

The project has a budget of $700,000 and will be funded by the State Government’s Works For Queensland grant program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A public notice about the community consultation meetings is expected to issued by Council in the near future.<\/p>\n
