Cherbourg Council hosted a visit on Wednesday by representatives from the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) to inspect work completed after the 2013 floods.<\/p>\n

“There’s more work that can be done and we’re certainly looking at opportunities for that,” acting QRA CEO Jimmy Scott told Cherbourg Radio.<\/p>\n

Mr Scott inspected Cherbourg’s sewage treatment ponds, accompanied by Councillors and Council staff.<\/p>\n

He said there was the potential for restoration or possibly betterment works at this site.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We’re very keen to work with Council on what those options might be,” Mr Scott said.<\/p>\n

He said the QRA valued the strong relationship it has with Cherbourg Council.<\/p>\n

“We really applaud the Mayor, the Deputy Mayor and also the CEO and Council staff for the way that they have engaged with us over the prior years,” Mr Scott said.<\/p>\n
