Lion Australia – owners of the iconic Milton XXXX brewery in Brisbane – has signed an agreement to source all its electricity needs from the massive Lightsource bp solar farm at Woolooga.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the Power Purchase Agreement in place, Lion has reached their target of 100 per cent purchased renewable electricity by 2025 in Australia, two years ahead of schedule,” Deputy Premier Steven Miles said.<\/p>\n

“And they\u2019re Australia\u2019s first large-scale carbon neutral brewer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lion spokesperson Justin Merrell said Lion became Australia\u2019s first certified large-scale carbon neutral brewer in 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe 144-year-old XXXX brewery is one of Brisbane\u2019s most historic landmarks, but this latest evolution to 100 per cent renewable electricity proves this icon of Australian brewing is still capable of moving with the times,\u201d Mr Merrell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of our beer produced here \u2013 up to 250 million litres annually \u2013 is now made using 100 per cent renewable electricity.<\/p>\n
