January 31, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

Former Murgon cricketer Courtney Sippel has won a major award at the prestigious Australian Cricket Awards announced at a black tie event in Sydney this week.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old was named the Betty Wilson Young Cricketer of the Year after strong performances with the ball this season for the Brisbane Heat and Queensland Fire.<\/p>\n

She also scored some very handy runs for the Governor-General’s XI against Pakistan in January.<\/p>\n

Sippel made her debut with the Brisbane Heat in 2018 after being part of their development squad<\/p>\n

In February last year, Sippel was named Player of the Match in the Australia A victory over England A.<\/p>\n

Sippel’s name was read out among those of Australia’s cricketing elite:<\/strong><\/p>\n
