The winners of the South Burnett’s unique community Christmas competitions have been announced by the South Burnett Regional Council.<\/p>\n

The “Santa Claus Lane” competition – which aims to encourage neighbours to work together to foster community pride and social cohesion – is organised and sponsored by Council CEO Mark Pitt and his wife, Nicola.<\/p>\n

The Pitts also organise the “Santa\u2019s Workshop” competition, sponsored by Ken Mills Toyota, which encourages businesses to create some “festive magic” in their Christmas displays.<\/p>\n

Santa Claus Lane<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

For the second year in a row, residents in Kingaroy’s Rosella Parade have taken out the “Santa Claus Lane” title.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The road will now feature two special fingerboards, marking the street’s wins in 2021 and 2022.<\/p>\n

Nicola Pitt said deciding the winner had been difficult because of the quality of the entries.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was particularly hard to choose a winner, between the entries that collaborated extensively with their neighbours,” Nicola said.<\/p>\n

“The entry in Proston was a very close second and, in the end, it was the participation of the locals that was the final determiner.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also recognise that Amaroo Drive has also seen increased participation from neighbours.<\/p>\n

Mark said the competition aimed to increase collaboration between neighbours and give the children of the South Burnett an opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the season of Christmas.<\/p>\n

Previous winners are Amaroo Drive, Wondai (2019), Wondai Road, Proston (2020) and Rosella Parade, Kingaroy (2021).<\/p>\n

The winners of the 2022 Santa’s Workshop awards – each of whom received Santa trophies – were announced at Wednesday’s Council meeting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The winners are:<\/p>\n

  • Blackbutt<\/strong> – Blackbutt Art Gallery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Nanango<\/strong> – Sassy Mama<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Murgon<\/strong> – Wicks & Co Agencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • Wondai<\/strong> – Raffin Electrical<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Kingaroy<\/strong> – Kingaroy & District RSL & Pepper Tree Cabins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            \u201cWe had a wide range of winners this year, and some of the exhibits were exceptionally hard to choose between,\u201d Nicola Pitt said.<\/p>\n

            \u201cIt was great to see so many businesses participating in the challenge to create child-friendly Christmas displays.\u201d<\/p>\n
