The 81st Kingaroy Eisteddfod\u00a0is building to a crescendo with competitors getting reading for the massive closing concert this weekend.<\/p>\n

The concert will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall from 7:00pm on Saturday (May 11).<\/p>\n

Tickets are $15 for a family or $7 adults \/ $5 concession. There’ll also be a lucky door prize and raffles.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Town Hall has been hosting the eisteddfod since April 30, with schoolchildren from throughout the region – and throughout south-east Queensland – competing daily in Speech and Drama, Dance, Vocals and Keyboard, Instrumental and Literature.<\/p>\n

Today it was the turn of the choirs, with children from Kingaroy State School, Kumbia State School, St John’s Lutheran School, St Mary’s Catholic College and Dalby Christian College competing in various age groups.<\/p>\n

UPDATE May 10: \u00a0<\/strong>Congratulations to the South Burnett Youth Choir who won the Open Choral (Sacred) section last night. Choir members are now heading to\u00a0Brisbane tomorrow to attend the St Peter’s Lutheran College “Saints & Singers” Invitational Secondary Choral Workshop.<\/p>\n
