About 180 students from eight local schools gathered at Kingaroy State High School on Thursday to test their science skills in the annual University of Newcastle Science and Engineering challenge.<\/p>\n

The students, under the watchful eyes of their teachers and local community volunteers, took part in a number of challenges designed to test their understanding of various scientific principles.<\/p>\n

They constructed vehicles, measured string, built bridges and generally had a lot of fun while putting their theoretical knowledge to practical test.<\/p>\n

The students came from State high schools at Kingaroy, Murgon, Nanango, Goomeri, Proston, Yarraman, Wondai and Toogoolawah.<\/p>\n

The school which accumulated the most points overall was Nanango State High School, who repeated their success from 2012.<\/p>\n

RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n
