{"id":326190,"date":"2022-11-10T17:29:12","date_gmt":"2022-11-10T07:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=326190"},"modified":"2022-11-10T17:31:38","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T07:31:38","slug":"swickers-decision-in-january","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2022\/11\/10\/swickers-decision-in-january\/","title":{"rendered":"Swickers Decision In January"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>November 10, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A charge against Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory Pty Ltd alleging a breach of workplace health and safety legislation will be dealt with in the New Year.<\/p>\n<p>The company faces one charge of failing to comply with health and safety duty (Category 2).<\/p>\n<p>Kingaroy Magistrates Court was told on Thursday a judgment could be delivered after a one to two hour hearing, during which a plea would be entered.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrate Andrew Sinclair adjourned the matter to January 9.<\/p>\n<p>In August, a spokesperson from the Office of the Work Health and Safety Prosecutor (OWHSP) told <strong>southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the filed complaint and summons alleged the defendant company, in 2021, failed to manage the risk posed to workers by the use of an acidic cleaning product at its abattoir.<\/p>\n<p>The OWHSP is an independent prosecution office, established by State Parliament, to conduct proceedings for breaches of Queensland\u2019s workplace health and safety, resources safety and health laws.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A charge against Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory Pty Ltd alleging a breach of workplace health and safety legislation will be dealt with in the New Year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":187081,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[5,3],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
