Wondai proved too strong for Kingaroy Services Orange in Round 2 of the South Burnett cricket competition played last Saturday (October 15).<\/p>\n

The Wolves, who remain undefeated after two rounds of competition, demolished Services Orange by 123 runs at Wondai Cricket Ground.<\/p>\n

Wondai won the toss and batted first, finishing with 6\/223 at the end of their 40 overs.<\/p>\n

Torren Anderton (57) and Kimberley Barrett (52) were the top scorers.<\/p>\n

Nickolas Mitchell (2\/27 off six overs) and Josh Unverzagt (2\/33 off 6.1) were the pick of the Kingaroy bowlers.<\/p>\n

In reply, Services Orange were all out for 100 in the 36th over.<\/p>\n

Justin Labinsky (52 not out) led the way for Kingaroy but Ken Bedow (11) was the only other batter to make a start.<\/p>\n

Torren Anderton (3\/20 off 8) and David Warner (2\/10 off 3) finished with Wondai’s best bowling figures.<\/p>\n

  • Tingoora Vikings (9\/160) defeated Kingaroy Services Blue (159 all out) by one wicket at Taabinga State School.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Services Blue won the toss and batted first but were all out in the 39th over.<\/p>\n

    Tim Blanch (42), Glenn Kelly (29 not out) and Fletcher Black (27) were Kingaroy’s best scorers.<\/p>\n

    Scott Butters (5\/19 off 7.3 overs) and J Reilly (2\/19 off 8) had the best bowling figures for Vikings.<\/p>\n

    In reply, Tingoora Vikings got off to a strong start with opener Edwin Simpson hitting 76 runs in just 17 minutes, including 12 boundaries.<\/p>\n

    Next best with the bat was Tavis Hartwig (30 not out).<\/p>\n

    Vikings overtook Kingaroy’s total in the 37th over.<\/p>\n

    Tim Blanch (4\/27 off 7), Archie Koehler (2\/22 off 7) and Clinton Branch (2\/24 off 5) were Kingaroy’s best bowlers.<\/p>\n

    • Wooroolin Warriors (4\/178) defeated Nanango Purple (176 all out) by six wickets at Alan Downie Sports Fields, Nanango.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Nanango won the toss and batted first but ran out of batters in the last over.<\/p>\n

      Lochlan Burrows (48), Brett Burrows (35) and Lachlan Cullen (32) made good starts for Nanango.<\/p>\n

      Paul Clegg (3\/11 off 4) and Jackson Kerkow (3\/11 off 2.4) worked hard with the ball for Warriors.<\/p>\n

      In reply, Warriors made their target in the 32nd over.<\/p>\n

      Jackson Kerkow (57 not out) and Noah Birch (38) were the top scorers.<\/p>\n

      For Nanango, Thomas Town (2\/36 off 8) and Joseph Steinhardt (1\/26 off 7) had the best bowling figures.<\/p>\n

            A Grade Competition<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

            Two games from Round 5 of the Gympie One-Day competition were played in the South Burnett on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

            • Murgon Crusaders defeated Gympie Valleys by 70 runs at Murgon Sportsground.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Valleys won the toss and sent Murgon in to bat.<\/p>\n

              Crusaders were all out for 116 in the 36th over.<\/p>\n

              Ashley Sippel (48 not out) and Nicholas Sanewski (20) were the top scorers.<\/p>\n

              In reply, Valleys were all out for 46 in the 30th over.<\/p>\n

              Sippel (4\/1) and Sanewski (2\/11) again starred, tearing through the Valleys’ line-up.<\/p>\n

              • At Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy,\u00a0Gympie Colts defeated Wooroolin Warriors by five wickets.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Warriors won the toss and elected to bat. They were all out 120 in the 29th over.<\/p>\n

                Tyler Heness (28) and Fletcher Brown (24) were best with the bat.<\/p>\n

                In reply, Gympie Colts were 5\/121 in the 24th over.<\/p>\n

                Tyler Heness (2\/19 off 6) and Kieran Askin (1\/12 off 5) were the pick of the Wooroolin bowlers.<\/p>\n

                    South Burnett defeated Fraser Coast by six wickets in their Round 1 Goodchild Shield game, played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

                    Fraser Coast won the toss and elected to bat first.<\/p>\n

                    They were all out for 86 in the 29th over.<\/p>\n

                    South Burnett’s Michael Wostear (4\/11 off 5.5) and Nicholas Sanewski (2\/9 off 5) did the damage.<\/p>\n

                    In reply, South Burnett overcame the target in the 16th over (4\/87).<\/p>\n

                    Harrison Sippel top-scored, finishing 52 not out. His innings included three fours and three sixes.<\/p>\n

                    Opener Fletcher Brown also hit a handy 21 runs.<\/p>\n
