October 25, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every year hundreds of young schoolchildren from across Queensland send in their drawings in the hope they will be featured on WorkSafe Qld’s annual Farm Safety calendar.<\/p>\n

Congratulations this year must go to Kilkivan P-10 Year 1 student Zahra Hill whose artwork is featured on the March 2023 page.<\/p>\n

Zahra chose powerline safety as her topic, “Don’t Touch Fallen Powerlines”.<\/p>\n

As WorkSafe says: “Overhead powerlines are dangerous. Do not park equipment, operate machinery or plant trees or crops under them.”<\/p>\n

WorkSafe received almost 1500 entries to this year\u2019s competition.<\/p>\n

Twelve winning entries were selected for the calendar.<\/p>\n

As well as their entry taking pride of place in the calendar, winning students are awarded a $250 voucher and $500 for their school.<\/p>\n
