Not-for-profit support group Lives Lived Well –\u00a0 which has a centre in Kingaroy – has won an award at this year’s Queensland Mental Health Week Achievement Awards.<\/p>\n

The winners were announced at a breakfast function in Brisbane on Friday.<\/p>\n

Lives Lived Well won the Not-For-Profit Organisation Award (101+ Staff) category for its work at 20 locations across the State.<\/p>\n

The group works to help people with drug, alcohol and mental health concerns to help get their lives back on track.<\/p>\n

The annual awards are organised by mental health and disability support group, Open Minds.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said the 2022 awards had attracted a high volume of quality nominations, with the panel of judges shortlisting 31 finalists, and selecting 11 winners.<\/p>\n

\n

South Burnett Equine Assisted Learning’s Horse Wisdom Program, based in Kingaroy, was one of three finalists in the Early Years Award category.<\/strong><\/p>\n

SBEAL’s program consists of seven sessions focusing on mindfulness.<\/p>\n

Each session has its own learning goal to help participants in building their social and emotional regulation skills.<\/p>\n

SBEAL just missed out, being beaten in the category by the Achievement Awards’ overall winner, Accoras, which took out the $4000 Earle Duus award.<\/p>\n

Accoras funded an intervention pilot project to improve infant mental health outcomes.<\/p>\n

SBEAL’s Rachael Cooper told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> that just attending the breakfast had been awesome and the number of programs achieving great outcomes across Queensland was amazing.<\/p>\n
