South Burnett Regional Council has grants of up to $5000 available for projects designed to build resilience and economic recovery in the region.<\/p>\n

The “Local Built Small Grants” grants are from the Federal Government’s Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program.<\/p>\n

A total pool of $100,000 is available in the South Burnett across two rounds with grants up to $3000 and $5000 possible depending on the category.<\/p>\n

Applications opened on October 10 and will close on November 21.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are three categories: small events, community building and facilities planning.<\/p>\n

A Council spokesperson said the key objectives of the funding were to support projects that promote wellbeing, resilience, adaptation to climate change and build skills in and knowledge of the environment.<\/p>\n

Organisations must be based within the South Burnett or show substantial benefit to the residents of the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Council, in partnership with the region\u2019s business development organisations, is also providing incentives to support small businesses within the CBDs of Blackbutt, Kingaroy, Murgon, Nanango, and Wondai to improve their business fa\u00e7ades. <\/strong><\/p>\n

This funding is also being provided through the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grant Program.<\/p>\n

A total pool of $300,000 is available across two rounds.<\/p>\n

A minimum grant amount is $500 with a maximum grant of $3000 with a 50 per cent co-contribution required (dollar-for-dollar funding).<\/p>\n

Round 1 will open on October 17 and close on November 21.<\/p>\n

Improvements to frontages may include lighting, exterior walls, windows and doors, storefronts, awnings\/canopies, signage, exterior architectural features, exterior painting, reinstatement of historical features of the building and increased accessibility to shop fronts.<\/p>\n
