Police are investigating a break-in at the Cherbourg Town Hall in the early hours of Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

About 4:00am, police were called to the hall in Barambah Avenue after reports of a break-in in progress.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said the hall was “significantly damaged”.<\/p>\n

“Early investigations suggest the offenders have forced entry through a side door and once inside, had thrown food throughout the building and put some holes in a wall,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“A number of paper and plastic items were removed from the hall to light a bonfire outside the building. The persons involved have fled upon police arrival.”<\/p>\n

  • A group of children are being dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act after a bag was allegedly stolen from a vehicle in Gore Street, Murgon, on September 26.\u00a0A woman reportedly left her vehicle running as she entered a\u00a0 childcare centre for a short time.\u00a0As she walked out, she spotted a group of children running from her vehicle, one of them carrying her brown bag.\u00a0The children were located by police a short time later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Investigations are continuing into an incident where a number of wheelie bins were set on fire in Broadway Street, Cherbourg, on September 26.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • About 8:50pm on September 19, would-be thieves damaged a glass door to break into a home in Stephens Street, Murgon. It is believed the offenders entered the dwelling but nothing was taken.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • A wallet, keys and a cap were stolen from a shed in Rippingale Street, Moffatdale, between 4:00pm on September 20 and <\/span>8:00am the following morning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Three 17-year-old youths from the Gympie region were dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after police were called about 11:00am on September 23 to the Yallakool Tourist Park at Bjelke-Petersen Dam after reports of teenagers stealing property from multiple campsites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
              \n
            • At some time before 10:00am on September 23, a thief stole $270 cash from a purse at an address in Fisher Street, Cherbourg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                \n
              • Between 6:30pm and 9:15pm on September 22, unknown offenders attended an address in Haly Street, Wondai, and threw a number of large rocks on to the roof, causing damage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Drugs<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

                A number of people will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 25 after being charged with drug-related offences:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                • A 60-year-old Murgon woman was charged with possessing drugs and drug utensils after a search of a house in Perkins Street, Murgon, on September 28.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  • A 38-year-old Murgon woman was\u00a0charged with possessing drugs and a used drug utensil after a search of a vehicle stopped by police on the Bunya Highway, Murgon, on September 30.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    • A 61-year-old Murgon woman was charged with producing dangerous drugs following the search of a house in Houghton Street, Murgon, on September 29.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                        \n
                      • A 19-year-old Kingaroy woman was charged with possessing drugs and a drug utensil after her vehicle was stopped by police on Greenview Road, Wondai, on September 21.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                          \n
                        • A 68-year-old Murgon man was charged with possessing drugs and drug utensils after the search of a house in Cobb Street, Murgon, on September 20.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                            \n
                          • A 50-year-old Murgon man was charged with possessing drugs and drug utensils after a house search in Wright Way, Murgon, on September 21.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                            • A 43-year-old Wondai man was charged with possessing drug utensils, property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence and authority required to possess explosives after a search of a vehicle in Cobb Street, Murgon, on September 21. A 23-year -old Cherbourg was charged with obstructing police.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                              A 42-year-old Wondai man has also been charged with possessing a drug utensil after a search of a property on Harms Road, Wheatlands, on September 28.<\/strong><\/p>\n
