Yarraman & District Progress Association has received a $2310 grant under Round 1 of Toowoomba Regional Council’s community grants scheme for 2022-23.<\/p>\n

Council approved the funding at it general meeting this week.<\/p>\n

The association plans to use the money to upgrade its website and add in information about a proposed retirement village development several of its members have been examining.<\/p>\n

The Yarraman group was one of more 50 than applications totalling about $237,000 which were approved by the TRC.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cr James O\u2019Shea said the funds would allow many groups to upgrade facilities, buy\u00a0 equipment and benefit thousands of members and participants of these groups.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Community Grants Program is designed to give back to our community and not-for-profit groups to allow them to run events, build capacity within their own organisations and fund projects that otherwise might not get off the ground,\u201d Cr O\u2019Shea said.<\/p>\n

Round 1 of the 2022-23 program was also the first time groups had been asked to use the SmartyGrants online platform.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m delighted that all applicants were successfully able to use the newly implemented SmartyGrants software solution to submit their applications for funding,” Cr O’Shea said.<\/p>\n
