There’s twice as many exhibits for visitors to browse – and probably drool over – this weekend than at a regular Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club rally!<\/p>\n

That’s because the club, which is celebrating its 25th birthday, is also hosting the 9th Biennial Queensland Heritage Rally at its grounds next to Kingaroy Airport.<\/p>\n

Exhibitors and visitors have come from all over Australia to take part.<\/p>\n

Trucks, tractors, vintage cars and old farm machinery have been arriving at the club’s grounds all week.<\/p>\n

The rally officially got under way on Friday morning but the main day is Saturday, with events running from 8:30am to 5:00pm.<\/p>\n

Visitors on Saturday will get the opportunity to view parades of cars, motorbikes and tractors; watch raking, baling and hay-loading demonstrations; and the ever-popular tractor pulls and slow tractor races.<\/p>\n

There will also be mobile sawmill displays, corn threshing and hammermilling and a peanut threshing demonstration.<\/p>\n

More events are scheduled from 8:00am to 11:00am on Sunday (see Rally Program, below).<\/p>\n

Queensland Heritage Rally event secretary Charmaine Osborne said there were 235 registered exhibitors but most had brought along multiple items for display.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There were also 40 stallholders selling everything from ice cream, coffee, chips and hamburgers to tools, craftworks and music CDs.<\/p>\n

But the main highlight, of course, are the rows and rows of tractors, trucks, cars and machinery, including a very large display of working stationary engines.<\/p>\n

The rally has a theme of “Anything and Everything Australian Made” which means there are more than a few Chamberlain tractors taking part, but all the other popular marques also have strong representation.<\/p>\n

Charmaine said she was very happy with the number of exhibitors.<\/p>\n

“It’s massive. The amount of vehicles is crazy!” she said.<\/p>\n

Entry into the grounds is $10 a head on Saturday (under 12s free) and free on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
