Applications are now open for the AgriFutures Rural Women\u2019s Award, which celebrates the leadership of women involved in rural industries and communities.<\/p>\n

Applicants must have an existing project, business or program which falls into a Community, Collaboration or Commercial category.<\/p>\n

“If you know someone who is actively contributing to rural and regional Australia, tap them on the shoulder,” AgriFutures Australia managing director John Harvey said.<\/p>\n

“We hear time and time again that it is often friendly encouragement from someone else that gets applicants over the line to apply.”<\/p>\n

State and Territory winners each receive a $15,000 grant, sponsored by Westpac, as well as access to professional development opportunities and national alumni networks.<\/p>\n

AgriFutures is also promoting its Rural Women\u2019s Acceleration Grant program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This initiative was developed in 2021 to foster growth and development in women involved in rural and emerging industries.<\/p>\n

It runs separately to the AgriFutures Rural Women\u2019s Award, however it complements the process and aims\u00a0 to provide a leadership and development opportunity to women who are not quite ready to apply for the Award.<\/p>\n

Seven Australian women a year will be granted with a learning and development bursary of $7000 to enable them to bring their idea, cause or vision to life.<\/p>\n

Applications for both the AgriFutures Rural Women\u2019s Award and the AgriFutures Rural Women\u2019s Acceleration Grant close on Wednesday, October 19.<\/p>\n
