The BlazeAid volunteers who have been working on South Burnett properties since February this year have now packed up camp and left Murgon.<\/p>\n

The volunteers, who help to clear debris and repair fences, arrived in late January to work on properties in the northern part of the South Burnett and in the Tansey and Booubyjan areas which were damaged after back-to-back floods.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is priceless what they have achieved in relation to lending a hand clearing flood debris and repairing fences, often on multiple occasions with the repeated flooding across the region,” Local Disaster Recovery Group chair Cr Kathy Duff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe BlazeAid guys and girls have also helped out on community projects when it has been too wet to get on farm.<\/p>\n

“The support given by BlazeAid – particularly in the mental health space – can also not be understated. <\/p>\n

“It is so reassuring to flood-impacted primary producers to see the support coming down the road and know they are not alone.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncil cannot thank BlazeAid volunteers enough for their tireless efforts over the past eight months.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe commitment that BlazeAid has shown is absolutely remarkable and on behalf of the South Burnett we say a big thank you in appreciation of all that you have done for our region.”<\/p>\n
