Nominations are now open for the South Burnett Regional Council’s 2023 Australia Day Awards.<\/p>\n

The awards will be presented on Sunday, January 22, at the Nanango Showgrounds.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Mayor Brett Otto said it was important to acknowledge community members and groups who go above and beyond for the benefit of people in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

\u201cWherever you live, from Blackbutt to Proston, you can nominate a person or group of people in your community who do an outstanding job in looking after others, local heroes who stand up and work hard,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese awards allow equal opportunity across the entire South Burnett to recognise the invaluable work being done by the many local community groups and individuals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Australia Day Awards will recognise commitment and tenacity in creating a better quality of life for our region.”<\/p>\n

Award nominations will be judged by a panel of people drawn from throughout the South Burnett.<\/p>\n
