southburnett.com.au would like to apologise to our readers for being missing in action over the past two weeks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Both our editor, Anne Miller, and our CEO, Dafyd Martindale, have had medical procedures recently, and this unexpected development meant we were unable to provide regular news updates.<\/p>\n

However, we have both now returned to our desks and look forward to resuming normal operations as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n

We regret our unplanned absence may have caused readers some inconvenience.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like many parts of rural and regional Australia, the withdrawal of news services over the past decade has left the South Burnett with progressively fewer and fewer choices when it comes to obtaining local news.<\/p>\n

We believe an informed community is a better one.<\/p>\n

We also believe the ability to obtain accurate and timely local news is essential to the growth and development of a vital and progressive region.<\/p>\n

This was the reason we established southburnett.com.au as an online newspaper in 2012, and they remain the reasons we stay in business today.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is likely we will both require more hospital stays in coming months, and this may result in some further disruptions to our normal service in future.<\/p>\n

But we would like to thank our readers for their patience and understanding during this time.<\/p>\n
