The Aussie Angus and Brangus Bull Sale held at Coolabunia’s saleyards on Saturday generated top prices for quality cattle. <\/p>\n

The sale offered 24 Angus bulls with the top priced unit selling for $24,000 and the remainder for an average of $12,174.<\/p>\n

The top price for 10 Brangus Bulls on offer was $14,000 a head – which was achieved twice – with the remainder going under the hammer for an average $10,000 per head.<\/p>\n

All up, the sale secured a 96% clearance rate.<\/p>\n

“This was a great result,” auctioneer Corey Evans said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a true representation of what beef cattle are doing at the moment, as well as the big demand for black cattle.”<\/p>\n

He said another aim of the event was to give South Burnett graziers the chance to purchase quality Angus and Brangus Bulls for their herds.<\/p>\n

“We gave them that opportunity today.”<\/p>\n

The sale was officially opened by South Burnett Mayor Brett Otto. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Elite Livestock Auctions also livestreamed the event for those who were unable to attend on the day, hosting 23 bidders online.<\/p>\n

Eight vendors from a variety of studs located in the South Burnett and Lockyer regions presented their bulls at the sale.<\/p>\n

Most of the bulls were purchased by local buyers, with a smaller number heading to the North Burnett as far as Mingo, and a few towards the coast.<\/p>\n

The top selling bull from Lot 12 – Ruby Ridge Silver out of Te Mania Emperor – was bred by artificial insemination.<\/p>\n

It was purchased by Wes and Vicky Radke from Mundubbera, who said they were pleased to have such a remarkable bull join their herd.<\/p>\n

All bulls were in fit, working condition ready to perform with many happy vendors and buyers. <\/p>\n

Aussie Land & Livestock, who ran the sale, are planning top hold a similar auction on August 19 next year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We’d like to thank all our sponsors and supporters,” Midge Thompson said.<\/p>\n

“The sale couldn\u2019t have gone as smoothly as it did without the use of the wonderful facilities at Coolabunia Saleyards, the transporters and the behind the scenes work of yarders and agents.”<\/p>\n
