Residents from across Toowoomba Regional Council area have been invited to take part in workshops which will shape the TRC’s new Arts and Cultural Strategy.<\/p>\n

Cr Tim McMahon said the region was a hive of cultural activity in the arts, heritage and multicultural sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have so many wonderful organisations, initiatives, festivals and events which Council supports. This strategy is aimed to help these to continue to flourish and help formalise Council\u2019s delivery of services or assistance,\u201d Cr McMahon said.<\/p>\n

A series of workshops will be held in towns across the region, with participants asked to consider key items of the strategy and help create a document that will strengthen the working relationships with Council and other community organisations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have so much activity in our community that occurs due to the passion, skill and commitment of our diverse community \u2013 organisations and individuals who give their all in creating anything from a gallery show, to large festivals or the quiet work of preserving our local history throughout the Region,\u201d Cr McMahon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is vital that this working document is informed by the knowledge and wealth of experience of those whom this strategy will ultimately serve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dates and locations of the workshops are available online<\/a> <\/strong>but residents in Yarraman and Cooyar will have to travel to Crows Nest, or select an online option.<\/p>\n

The workshops will be held in the evening and light catering will be available.<\/p>\n
