The Toowoomba Bombers were too good for the Saints on Ladies Day on Saturday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

There were pink socks in abundance at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday as the South Burnett Saints celebrated their annual Ladies Day.<\/p>\n

The day recognised women in sport as well as raising awareness about breast cancer.<\/p>\n

The Saints women’s team has been a proud part of the Darling Downs competition since 2015 but there have been women involved in the club since Day 1 in 2012.<\/p>\n

The pink day featured raffles and on-field games – including a goal kicking competition and a sprint race – as well as celebrations under a special marquee.<\/p>\n

Out on the field, the Toowoomba Bombers proved too strong for both the men’s and women’s teams in their Round 12 clash.<\/p>\n

Ned O’Connor, Keegan Wright and James Flavel all kicked six-pointers for the Saints.<\/p>\n

The Saints men’s team will be playing at home again this Saturday in Kingaroy, taking on the Warwick Redbacks from 2:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This round is being held in memory of Ben Brooks, a much-loved former player who died of leukaemia earlier this year, just seven months after being diagnosed.<\/p>\n

A player will be selected by the Brooks family and awarded the “Ben Brooks Award” for displaying “courage, determination and a never-give-up attitude”.<\/p>\n

The Saints’ women will be travelling to Dalby to face the Swans.<\/p>\n
