An idea nurtured on Facebook became a reality in the South Burnett today with the inaugural distribution of “suspended coffees” to local community groups.<\/p>\n

The original idea, spotted by Gloria Jean’s Coffees employee Bonny Heit, was to encourage people purchasing their morning coffee to buy two.<\/p>\n

The extra “suspended coffee” would be available to people who couldn’t afford to buy one for themselves.<\/p>\n

Bonny took the idea to her boss, Kingaroy franchise owner Jason Frecklington. However the idea has been adapted slightly for the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

It was decided that the “suspended coffees” should be turned into vouchers which would be distributed via local welfare agencies and community groups.<\/p>\n

Vouchers for the first 200 “suspended coffees” were handed over this morning.<\/p>\n

Jason said 25 were given to Bluecare, 25 to Centacare, 25 to the Salvation Army and 25 to the South Burnett PCYC.<\/p>\n

The idea is obviously popular with Gloria Jean’s customers.<\/p>\n

While southburnett.com.au<\/strong> was in the shop, another two “suspended coffees” were purchased.<\/p>\n
