The death toll from COVID-19 within the Darling Downs Health region has risen to 50, taking the tally for June to 12.<\/p>\n

All but two of these deaths have occurred since the Queensland border re-opened on December 13 last year.<\/p>\n

The Queensland COVID-related death toll is now 1254, with almost 190 of these fatalities occurring since June 1.<\/p>\n

Six more deaths were announced by Queensland Health on Friday morning, taking the weekly toll to 57.<\/p>\n

When the borders re-opened, the Queensland death toll for the pandemic to date was seven.<\/p>\n

A total of 5313 new cases were announced on Friday morning, taking the estimated number of active COVID-19 cases in the State to 30,759 \u2013 a number known to be under-estimated.<\/p>\n

There are currently 597 people being treated for COVID-19 in Queensland hospitals, including 15 patients in intensive care units.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officially, a total of 1251 people in the South Burnett and 312 in Cherbourg have had COVID-19 since the pandemic began, with all but three cases occurring since December 13.<\/p>\n

A total of 80,224 First Nations residents in Queensland have had COVID since January 2020.<\/p>\n

According to statistics from the Federal Department of Health:<\/strong><\/p>\n

As at 8:00am on Friday, there were 5011 active COVID-19 cases in 627 active outbreaks in residential aged care facilities across Australia.<\/p>\n

The total number of resident cases associated with these latest outbreaks is 7855; currently active cases are 3281 (ie. 7855 minus recovered patients and deaths)<\/p>\n

The total number of staff cases associated with these latest outbreaks is 4214; currently active 1730 (ie. 4214 minus recovered patients; there have been no staff deaths)<\/p>\n

A total of 2881 people across Australia in residential aged care have now died of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.<\/p>\n

A total of 59,344 aged care residents and 45,047 aged care staff have contracted COVID-19 since the pandemic began.<\/p>\n
