Increasing traffic volumes on Birt Road has led to chronic dust problems for residents and prompted several on-site meetings with councillors<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A long-running debate about dust and drainage problems on Birt Road north of Kingaroy may have been resolved.<\/p>\n

At Friday’s Budget committee meeting, South Burnett councillors voted to spend $200,000 during the coming year to address the road’s issues.<\/p>\n

However, a final decision will not be ratified until Council hands down its 2022-23 Budget on July 8.<\/p>\n

While Council’s solution is less than the bitumen seal Birt Road residents requested, the revised proposal would address the full 2.7km length of the road.<\/p>\n

It would also allow Council to put $1.2 million into a dozen other community projects.<\/p>\n

These projects, which are also subject to confirmation, include:<\/strong><\/p>\n
