The South Burnett Thrashers have continued their winning streak in the Darling Downs Rugby Union competition, downing the Toowoomba Bears 33-12 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Club president Jamie Shirlaw said it was a very tough game, wet and muddy.<\/p>\n

South Burnett let in two early tries and were behind 12-nil at one point but the Thrashers regrouped after the half-time break.<\/p>\n

“The boys played well in the second half,” Jamie said.<\/p>\n

Marcus Jensen and Conan Holding each scored two tries and Mowen Boino scored one. Jensen and Sata Tale each kicked two conversions.<\/p>\n

The match at the USQ Oval in Toowoomba was\u00a0also an opportunity for the Thrashers to debut their new jerseys.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Up until now, the South Burnett men have been playing in a mix of old jerseys from previous seasons, some many years old!<\/p>\n

The Thrashers’ will be playing in Kingaroy this weekend.<\/p>\n

The game, against Dalby, had been scheduled to be played at T.J. O’Neill Oval but has been moved due to the field’s condition to Carroll Oval at St Mary’s Catholic College.<\/p>\n

It will start at 12:15pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n

“We are very excited to play at home in front of family and friends,” Jamie said.<\/p>\n

“This will be the first home game this year.\u00a0 The next home game after this will be on July 9, hopefully at T.J. O’Neill Oval.”<\/p>\n
