“It was the best show we have ever had! Everything was just excellent … and the gate was way up on previous years!”<\/p>\n

Blackbutt Show Society president Stephen Heit is over the moon about this year’s show, which was held on Saturday.<\/p>\n

And he was also particularly happy about the rodeo.<\/p>\n

“Everyone enjoyed it; in fact you couldn’t get a seat around the ring it was so full!” he said.<\/p>\n

The rodeo, which included everything from poddy rides to bull rides, topped off a big day at the 79th annual Blackbutt Show.<\/p>\n

The ute muster was also popular with lots of entries coming from all over south-east Queensland.<\/p>\n

Mr Heit said pavilion entries were also good; while some categories were down a little, others were up.<\/p>\n

Like most of the other ag shows this year, entries in the equestrian events were down a bit, but that didn’t stop the riders from competing hard.<\/p>\n

“The stud cattle might have been affected a little by other shows on the same day, but still it was good,” Mr Heit said.<\/p>\n

“In fact the whole show was unbelievable!”<\/p>\n
