This weekend’s round of junior and senior rugby league games, due to be played at Cherbourg’s Jack O’Chin Oval, has been cancelled due to the weather.<\/p>\n

“The decision has been made given predictions around the current rain event and localised flooding that may occur,” South Burnett Rugby League president Dave Tierney said on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

“The decision has also been made with the safety of all in the rugby league community to ensure travel this weekend is kept to that which is necessary.”<\/p>\n

The scheduled Under 14s game between the Kingaroy Red Ants and the Chinchilla Bulldogs, due to be played in Chinchilla on Saturday, has also been abandoned.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Eagle Under 15s, Under 16s and Under 17s also have the week off after a decision by the Toowoomba Junior Rugby League earlier in the week to abandon all scheduled games this weekend.<\/p>\n
