Queenslanders whose homes were damaged by recent floods can now register to access grants to raise, repair, retrofit or have their home voluntarily bought back.<\/p>\n

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the $741 million Resilient Homes Fund would help make Queensland homes more flood-resilient.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the largest home resilience program of its kind to ever be delivered in Australia,” the Premier said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t stop floods from occurring but we can take steps to reduce their impact.”<\/p>\n

Minister for Public Works Mick de Brenni urged flood-affected Queenslanders within the 37 eligible local government areas who were interested in a voluntary buy-back, house-raising or retrofitting for resilience to come forward and register their details.<\/p>\n

This will trigger the start of the process.<\/p>\n

Eligible areas include the council areas of the South Burnett, Cherbourg, Gympie, North Burnett, Somerset, Toowoomba and Western Downs.<\/p>\n
