Nanango’s 175th anniversary will be happening in 2023, and a volunteer committee is busy drawing up plans for the town’s celebrations<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A community committee which is organising celebrations for Nanango’s 175th anniversary wants to hear from anyone planning an event in the Nanango district during 2023.<\/p>\n

The committee has been organised by the Nanango Tourism and Development Association (NaTDA), but is being run as an independent group.<\/p>\n

The Anniversary Committee has already started work on putting together a calendar of events for next year.<\/p>\n

And if there’s sufficient community support, the group also hopes to bring back Nanango’s much-loved Pioneer Festival street parade – and perhaps even the festival itself – to celebrate this significant milestone.<\/p>\n

Nanango was the first town established in the South Burnett and played a key role in the development of the region. <\/strong><\/p>\n

It is also the second largest town in the South Burnett next to Kingaroy, and home to a number of iconic regional events such as the Nanango Campdraft, Heritage Nanango Country Music Muster and The Waterhole Rocks.<\/p>\n

The town’s Lee Park Racecourse is also the biggest in the region, with the Nanango Race Club organising six meetings each year.<\/p>\n

The 175th Anniversary Committee is being chaired by Terry Mackrell and is supported by 18 other volunteers.<\/p>\n
