Holly Ferling … joining ACT Meteors<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Local cricket hero Holly Ferling has quit the Queensland Fire to take up a contract with the ACT Meteors in the Women’s National Cricket League.<\/p>\n

Ferling, 26, made her debut with the Fire as a teenager and has played almost 90 games for Queensland, as well as representing Australia in Test, T20 and One Day International matches.<\/p>\n

She was also an inaugural signing by the Brisbane Heat in the WBBL and has played 32 matches for the club.<\/p>\n

Ferling announced this week that she had accepted a two-year deal to join the Meteors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The move follows her being named the Fire’s “Player’s Player” at the recent Queensland Cricket Awards.<\/p>\n

Queensland Cricket CEO Terry Svenson wished Ferling every success.<\/p>\n

“Obviously we are saddened to see her move from Queensland but certainly wish her the best for the future,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Holly has been an exemplary player for Queensland and her profile and accessibility has inspired a generation of young girls to experience and enjoy the game.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
