Wondai Regional Art Gallery was abuzz with the sounds of children having fun at the official opening of the May exhibition on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Students from Wheatlands State School turned up en masse to show off their artworks to their proud parents.<\/p>\n

Wheatlands is featured this month in Kidz Korner, Wondai Gallery’s monthly exhibition that displays works from local schools.<\/p>\n

The children also demonstrated their musical talents with a performance of a number of works at the official opening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The exhibition in the main gallery, “Toled’d In Paper And Mixed Media”, is a display of paper tole works by Rosemarie Matthews-Frederick and a group of her students.<\/p>\n

Rosemarie, who took up the craft after a ski accident, conducts regular paper tole workshops in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

In Gallery 1, well-known Mundubbera artist Sue Lederhose has a large display of watercolours painted during her travels around Australia, New Zealand and Thailand.<\/p>\n

As well as the framed works hung in the gallery, a large number of unframed works are also on display and available for purchase.<\/p>\n

In Gallery 3, Wondai artist Sue Warry has a display of recent works where she has been exploring the use of watercolours and pen and wash.<\/p>\n

The exhibitions will remain at the gallery until 3:00pm on May 28.<\/p>\n

The Wondai Regional Art Gallery is open seven days a week from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Entry is free.<\/p>\n
