May 6, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Burrandowan Picnic Race Club will be holding its special Centenary Race Meeting at the Burrandowan Racecourse, 66km west of Kingaroy, on Saturday (May 7).<\/p>\n

Crowds have been gathering at Burrandowan on the second Saturday in May since 1922 to take in the atmosphere of a bush picnic race meeting.<\/p>\n

Organisers are hoping for a bumper turnout on Saturday, which will also include the launch of a special book tracing the history of the races.<\/p>\n

The annual meeting generates funds for worthy causes and many food and drink outlets on the course are run by local service clubs to assist their own community projects.<\/p>\n

Buses will be running from Kingaroy at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm, and camping is available at the track for Saturday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Racing begins at 1:30pm and there\u2019s a five-race card.<\/p>\n

After the last race is run, the course’s pit-fired barbecue will light up and there’ll be live entertainment from Ryza that will run until late into the night.<\/p>\n

Patrons are reminded there are no ATMs and no mobile coverage at the track, so they should bring cash.<\/p>\n

Entry to this year’s meeting is $25 per head (plus booking fee) and tickets can be booked online<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n
