A woman charged after a fatal crash at Cushnie in 2021 was sentenced to five months’ jail when she appeared in Murgon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Amber Noaleen Mabb, from Springfield, was originally charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm after the incident at the intersection of Chinchilla-Wondai and Cushnie roads on January 15, 2021.<\/p>\n

However, she pleaded guilty to downgraded charges of driving without due care and attention causing death or grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n

Police alleged Mabb, who had two passengers in her Toyota Corolla, failed to give way at the intersection, colliding with a dual-cab ute.<\/p>\n

A 22-year-old woman who was sitting in the front seat of the Corolla was killed instantly.<\/p>\n

The other passenger, a 22-year-old man, and Mabb were treated by QAS paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n

Mabb was sentenced to five months\u2019 jail, suspended for two years.<\/p>\n

She was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.<\/p>\n

A 49-year-old Nanango man charged over the death of his 41-year-old brother in 2020 was released on immediate parole when he appeared in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gregory Jason Krause pleaded guilty to assaulting Justin Corey Krause occasioning bodily harm.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors withdrew earlier charges.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to a residence in Chester Street, Nanango, on February 24, 2020, after a struggle between the two men.<\/p>\n

Justin Krause was initially transported to Kingaroy Hospital before being airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a critical condition.<\/p>\n

His condition later deteriorated and he died in hospital on February 27 after suffering a heart attack.<\/p>\n

Justice Martin Burns sentenced Gregory Krause to two years\u2019 jail, with immediate release on parole.<\/p>\n
