South Burnett Care in Kingaroy now has a new multi-purpose home cinema system thanks to a $3000 donation from Rotary.<\/p>\n

Rotary District 9620 and the Kingaroy Rotary Club each put in $1500 to make the project a reality.<\/p>\n

Murray Johnston, from Kingaroy Rotary, said South Burnett Care planned to use the audio-visual display system for activities with clients as well as staff training.<\/p>\n

Rotary will also be able to use it during their Monday night club meetings which are held in the same room at the Avoca Street complex.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We will be able to use it for people who cannot attend our meetings or for guest speakers. They will be able to Zoom in,” Murray said.<\/p>\n

The system includes a screen and a ceiling-mounted high-definition digital projector.<\/p>\n

A South Burnett Care spokesperson said the audio-visual equipment would greatly benefit the organisation’s clients, who include the aged, frail, people with a disability and their caregivers.<\/p>\n

It will also provide IT training opportunities for disadvantaged youth and young adults who are currently under the care of the centre.<\/p>\n

The viewing screen can be electronically raised or lowered, as necessary.<\/p>\n
