FLASHBACK: Local residents and businesspeople united as one in 2013 against the Australia Post decision to shift counter services to Kingaroy Shoppingworld<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

May 4, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n

Australia Post will be closing its Kingaroy Shoppingworld outlet on Friday, June 3.<\/p>\n

A note to customers from Postal Manager Karen Crouch says all Australia Post services will be available from the following Monday (June 6) at 170 Kingaroy Street, ie. the traditional Post Office building on the corner of Alford Street.<\/p>\n

The move will combine all Australia Post services at the one location.<\/p>\n

Ms Crouch said there would be some changes to the layout at the Kingaroy Street site, particularly in regards to PO Boxes.<\/p>\n

However, no PO Box numbers or keys will change.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But there will be a short disruption to PO Box services.<\/p>\n

Customers with PO Box numbers between 745 and 1294 will not be able to access their boxes from noon this Friday (May 6) to 8:00am on Monday (May 9).<\/p>\n

Customers with numbers between 1 and 744 will be unable to access their boxes between noon on Friday, May 13, and 8:00am on Monday, May 16.<\/p>\n

The relocation of services back to the old Post Office building comes nine years after residents, Council, the KCCI and then-Federal MP Bruce Scott protested against the shifting of all counter services to the Kingaroy Shoppingworld outlet.<\/p>\n

Their campaign fell on deaf ears with Australia Post senior management at the time.<\/p>\n
