The RACQ is calling for a safety works package along the D\u2019Aguilar Highway between Caboolture and Kingaroy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The RACQ has called on all political parties and candidates in the upcoming Federal Election to prioritise road projects in the Wide Bay and Burnett – including upgrades to the Burnett and D’Aguilar highways.<\/p>\n

Spokesperson Susan Furze said road safety needed to be “front of mind” for present and future leaders.<\/p>\n

RACQ\u2019s priority projects in the Wide Bay and Burnett region include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • A safety works package along the Burnett Highway, including flood immunity improvements to provide an alternative route to the Bruce Highway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • A safety works package along the D\u2019Aguilar Highway from Caboolture to Kingaroy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Accelerating all Bruce Highway Upgrade Program projects by increasing annual funding by 50 per cent, including extra maintenance activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • A safety works package for the Isis Highway, Bundaberg-Gin Gin Road, Bundaberg-Miriam Vale Road and Goodwood Road<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Immediate funding for the Bundaberg flood levee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            \u201cWe\u2019re also calling for additional funding to modernise Queensland\u2019s transport and energy systems by trialling emerging fuel, charging, energy storage and energy production technology including solar, hydrogen, community grids and micro-grids,\u201d Ms Furze said.<\/p>\n

            RACQ is also urging both sides of government to help expand the national electric vehicle fast-charging network.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
