A good crowd turned out at Wondai Sportsground on Saturday afternoon to cheer on the South Burnett Eagles Open Women’s team taking on the experienced Noosa Pirates.<\/p>\n

It was a keenly contested trial game played at the Eagles’ homeground where they have been training hard in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

At the end of the first quarter, the South Burnett were ahead 6-4 after Jaz Stephens scored and converted her own try.<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Burnett’s defence was tested in the second quarter but held well, with Noosa ahead by just four points at half-time, 10-6.<\/p>\n

But the Pirates set sail after the break, with the final score blowing out to 30-6.<\/p>\n

This was the Eagles’ first time on the paddock for 2022 and a great hitout for the team ahead of the season.<\/p>\n
