So we have no plans to put them into the upcoming 2013-14 Budget.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The issue hasn&#8217;t been discussed at any Council meeting I&#8217;m aware of.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor was responding to reports the Federal Government would make $40 million available nationally next month for investment in security cameras and lighting through a newly announced National Crime Prevention Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The fund would allow councils and non-profit community groups in crime hot-spots to apply for grants to set up CCTV systems.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Kratzmann said the South Burnett was not rated as a &#8220;crime hot-spot&#8221; so even if Council did apply it was unlikely to be successful.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Related article: <a href=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2012\/10\/crime-rises-6-per-cent-but-not-here\/\">Crime Rises 6 Per Cent &#8230; But Not Here<\/a><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The South Burnett Regional Council has no plans to introduce closed-circuit TV cameras in Kingaroy or Nanango in the foreseeable future, Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":19748,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[5,22,3],"tags":[1131],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
