Police are appealing for information from the public about the movements of Darryl Smith, 51, who was last seen alive in Wondai on March 11.<\/p>\n

Mr Smith’s body was found floating in Gordonbrook Dam on Saturday afternoon, chained to the body of a woman who is yet to be identified.<\/p>\n

Police believe the bodies may have previously been weighted down.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a media conference in Kingaroy on Monday, Acting Inspector Paul McCusker said post mortems would be held in Brisbane on Tuesday but police do not believe a third party was involved in the deaths.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“At this stage police are very open to what has occurred at the dam but we are not trying to locate another person,”\u00a0Acting Insp McCusker said.<\/p>\n

He said police were appealing to anyone who may have seen Mr Smith’s vehicle,\u00a0a white 2004 Holden Commodore stationwagon (registration 306-BS3), parked at Gordonbrook Dam prior to March 13.<\/p>\n

They have seized the stationwagon, which was parked at the dam on Saturday, and have searched the vehicle.<\/p>\n

A blow-up bed was located nearby so police believe it is possible the pair may have been sleeping at the dam.<\/p>\n

Acting Insp McCusker\u00a0said Mr Smith had lived in the Kingaroy \/ Wondai areas for the past few years<\/p>\n

He asked that anyone who may have seen Mr Smith – or know of his movements – in the Kingaroy area before March 13 to come forward and speak to police.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We would love to hear from any member of the public who may have seen the (stationwagon) or seen Mr Smith, or a female he may have been travelling with at the time, in the Kingaroy area,” he said.<\/p>\n

Police have released a photograph of Mr Smith taken in Wondai on or about March 11.<\/p>\n

Mr Smith was last seen at the Wondai Post Office.<\/p>\n

“We would ask people to cast their minds back to where they were, or where they may have seen Mr Smith or his vehicle, or anyone they may have seen with Mr Smith, after this date,” he said.<\/p>\n

Acting Insp McCusker said police had spoken to Mr Smith’s family who were assisting with information about when they were last in contact with him.<\/p>\n

Police confirmed on Monday afternoon that\u00a0Darryl Smith is also known as Matthew Goldman.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was the proprietor of\u00a0Goldman’s Oracles’n’Gifts which operated from Shop 1, 13 Alford Street, Kingaroy.<\/p>\n
