Murgon and Kingaroy State High schools are among the first eight schools in the Darling Downs region which will receive a Dignity Vending Machine, courtesy of the State Government and the Share the Dignity charity.<\/p>\n

The machines provide students access to free sanitary products at school.<\/p>\n

Education Minister Grace Grace said the State Government was investing up to $2.5 million in a partnership with Share the Dignity to provide 120 State and non-State schools across Queensland with the machines.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe want all students to be confident to attend school every day,” Minister Grace said.<\/p>\n

“Giving students access to free sanitary products can make a real difference, especially for students whose families are doing it tough, have unstable accommodation or are fleeing domestic and family violence.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am delighted we had so much interest from schools, with over 200 applying.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor those schools that missed out this time around, or didn\u2019t get an EOI in, there will be another opportunity to apply for the remaining machines later this year.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
