Dr Ming Lin<\/strong>, who has been assisting at the Timbertown Medical Centre since January, has agreed to stay on at the centre until the end of the year which means Blackbutt will continue to have a second GP available to help local residents.<\/p>\n

Practice Manager Jeff Connor<\/strong> said the Centre had been without a second doctor for more than six months when Dr Lin joined them.<\/p>\n

“He settled in quickly and was soon seeing a regular complement of patients, pleased that they were able to be seen on the same day or at the latest on the next day,” Jeff said.<\/p>\n

Dr Lin came to Australia from Tian Jin, China, but has studied and worked in New Zealand since 1996 and in Australia for the past eight years. He has worked as a doctor at the Mater Hospital, Greenslopes Private Hospital and Redlands Hospital as well as in a private clinic at Redland Bay. He also worked as an after-hours GP at Family Care Medical Services in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

“From day one he has had a steady workload that he has approached with a caring, compassionate and highly efficient manner,” Jeff said.<\/p>\n

“Dr Lin has very quickly fitted in with the team at the medical centre and is now looking after a growing base of regular clients.<\/p>\n

“And the best news for all is that Dr Lin has really taken a liking to Blackbutt and the South Burnett and has agreed to finish the year at Blackbutt.<\/p>\n

“This will mean that with the appointment of a new GP Registrar to start the 2013 year, there will be a seamless handover of Dr Lin’s patients.”<\/p>\n

Jeff said the Timbertown Medical Centre was still accepting new patients and with Dr Lin on board, they were able to take in patients for ‘same day’ appointments in most cases.<\/p>\n

“Now that we can supply two GPs and with the knowledge that plans for the new Blackbutt Medical Centre is well advanced, we are able to offer patients a continuity of service that has not been available in the past,” Jeff said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
