An elderly man charged with arson and attempted arson after an incident in Murgon earlier this month was refused bail when he appeared in Murgon Court last Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Jurgen Schmidt, 75, was remanded in custody to reappear on May 24.<\/p>\n

Police will allege Schmidt set fires inside a structure in the early hours of February 25.<\/p>\n

Schmidt applied for bail which was refused by\u00a0Magistrate Andrew Sinclair.<\/p>\n

Charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle laid after a fatal crash\u00a0at Cushnie last year have been adjourned again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police will allege that Amber Mabb, who was 22 at the time, failed to gave way to an oncoming vehicle on Chinchilla-Wondai Road on January 15, 2021.<\/p>\n

A woman, who was the front passenger in the vehicle being driven by Ms Mabb, was killed in the crash while a second passenger, a 22-year-old Surfers Paradise man, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

The case was mentioned in Murgon Magistrates Court last Tuesday and adjourned to March 22.<\/p>\n
