Lees Bridge has passed inspection.<\/p>\n<p>This means drivers can now travel to Kingaroy via Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road rather than driving into Nanango.<\/p>\n<p>Byee Road is still closed as water is over the bridge and is not expected to reopen until Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Gympie Regional Council spokesperson said Bells Bridge on the Wide Bay Highway had received significant damage to the railing and deck.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Floodwaters dropped enough for crews to assess the condition of the bridge on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The Council spokesperson said the bridge would remain closed until repairs could be made.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, travellers from Goomeri and Kilkivan have been advised they can still reach Gympie via Gympie-Wooloolga Road into Widgee.<\/p>\n<p>From Widgee, continue into Gordon Street, Betts Street and Glastonbury Road into Southside.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A number of major bridges around the region remain closed after suffering damage in the weekend floods.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":314093,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[22,3],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
