It’s been confirmed: the South Burnett Thrashers rugby union team will be back on the paddock this season.<\/p>\n

And they will be playing in their old “home”, the Darling Downs competition where they last played in 2014.<\/p>\n

When talk began last year about the Thrashers reforming, it had been predicted they might join a Sunshine Coast competition.<\/p>\n

But spokesperson Jamie Shirlaw said after a lot of negotiations it had been confirmed the Thrashers would join the Darling Downs C Grade competition.<\/p>\n

Their first game is scheduled for April 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the meantime, the Thrashers’ squad is training hard at Wondai Sportsground on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons to get ready for the season.<\/p>\n

Jamie said there was still time for players to join the Thrashers if they were interested in playing this year.<\/p>\n

He believed some people may have held back until it was confirmed that the team had been accepted into a competition.<\/p>\n
