St Mary’s Catholic College graduate Jacob Sutton is the winner of the 2021 Nanango Electorate Year 12 School Leaver’s Bursary.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington announced the award on Monday.<\/p>\n

She said Jacob was one of many high-quality applicants from across the Nanango Electorate who were making the transition to further study.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe purpose of my School Leavers Bursary is to help make the transition from Year 12 to ongoing training and study just that little bit more achievable for students and their families,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cJacob is now studying a Bachelor of Information Technology through the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, with a goal of working in the cybersecurity industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis passion and positivity shone through in his interview and it was such a pleasure to present him with his \u2018big cheque\u2019 and hear more about his career plans.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cHe explained that this financial assistance will help alleviate some of the pressure on himself and his family in affording university and will help him get a head start and lay a good foundation for future years of study.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would also like to thank Mr Keith Campbell who once again assisted me with each of the interviews, and in the difficult task of choosing the Bursary winner.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of the applicants were amazing and after speaking with them it is obvious our region is in great hands with the level of commitment and dedication shown by these young people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Applications for the 2022 Deb Frecklington Nanango Electorate Year 12 School Leavers Bursary will open in early October 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
