The Queen … celebrating her Platinum Jubilee this year<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Federal Government is inviting groups to apply for up to $20,000 as part of a $15.1 million tree-planting program to mark the Queen\u2019s Platinum Jubilee.<\/p>\n

Grants from $2500 to $20,000 will be available to community groups and not-for-profit organisations, with each Federal Electorate eligible to receive up to $100,000 for up to 10 projects.<\/p>\n

Projects that are suitable must include formal commemorative events in 2022 to mark the Jubilee, plantings of regionally appropriate tree species, and installation of commemorative signs or plaques.<\/p>\n

The Planting Trees for The Queen\u2019s Jubilee Program is one of a range of national and community events planned by the Federal Government to celebrate The Queen\u2019s Jubilee year.<\/p>\n

The Queen ascended the throne on February 6, 1952, upon the death of King George VI, and the Jubilee celebrates her 70th year on the throne.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Groups interested in taking part in the tree-planting program must first approach their local Federal MP.<\/p>\n

The three Federal electorates that cross the South Burnett are Maranoa (David Littleproud), Flynn (Ken O’Dowd) and Wide Bay (Llew O’Brien).<\/p>\n

The projects will be assessed locally and successful organisations will then be invited to lodge a formal application.<\/p>\n
