{"id":312914,"date":"2022-02-03T12:21:07","date_gmt":"2022-02-03T02:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=312914"},"modified":"2022-02-03T20:43:12","modified_gmt":"2022-02-03T10:43:12","slug":"quad-safety-device-removed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2022\/02\/03\/quad-safety-device-removed\/","title":{"rendered":"Quad Safety Device &#8216;Removed&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>February 3, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Workplace Health and Safety investigation into a Queensland quad bike fatality late last year has found a safety device may have been removed from the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>An eSafe alert by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland issued on Thursday said initial inquiries suggested the man was in all likelihood mustering cattle on his own in a slopey area that also appeared to be sodden and boggy at the time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Investigations indicate the quad bike had been fitted with an Operator Protection Device (OPD) by the manufacturer.
